French Prime Minister Jean Castex said on Thursday that he was happy to see that COVID-19 vaccines are starting to gain wider acceptance from the French, who are among the world’s most vaccine skeptics.
“Fortunately, acceptance of the vaccination program is increasing, and this is good news for our country,” Castex said during his visit to the vaccination facility in eastern France.
He added that he had expected people to rush to vaccinate and called for patience.
Castex is scheduled to unveil new measures to curb the epidemic later Thursday, with a nationwide curfew starting at 6 pm.
Today, Thursday, the government is scheduled to launch a website for vaccination dates against the Corona virus, but the Ministry of Health said that the site suffers from communication problems. “In terms of accessibility, the site is out of service and is undergoing maintenance,” a ministry spokeswoman said.
