Berlin – (Reuters):
German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed her anger, Thursday, after supporters of US President Donald Trump stormed the Congress building, which she blamed on Trump’s failure to admit defeat by his Democratic rival, Joe Biden.

“We all saw the disturbing images yesterday of the storming of the US Congress,” Merkel said during a meeting. “These pictures angered me and saddened me as well.” “I regret that President Trump did not admit his defeat (in the presidential elections) since November, not until yesterday,” she added.

Merkel described the congressional intruders as “aggressors and rioters,” and expressed her confidence in the inauguration of Biden as President of the United States within two weeks.
