Saudi Arabia announces permission to perform Umrah from October 4

In response to the aspiration of many Muslims to perform Umrah and visit rituals, the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that it will begin allowing pilgrims to perform Umrah and visit gradually, while taking all necessary precautions and applying precautionary measures as of next month, specifically on Sunday 4 October.

An official source at the Ministry of Interior stated, according to a statement carried by the official Saudi News Agency (SPA), that “a generous approval was issued to allow the performance of Umrah and the visit gradually, while taking the necessary health precautions.” He explained that this was based on what was received from the competent authorities regarding the developments of the emerging corona virus pandemic,And in response to the aspiration of many Muslims at home and abroad to perform the rituals of Umrah and visitation, and based on the wise leadership’s keenness on the health and safety of those who visit the Two Holy Mosques. The statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior stated that the decision includes “gradually re-permitting performing Umrah, entering the Grand Mosque and visiting the honorable kindergarten in the Prophet’s Mosque”.
