Chris Evans’s new Netflix movie adds The Matrix and Narcos stars

The Russo Brothers have directed movies for franchises such as the Avengers and Captain America, so it’s no surprise that Joe and Anthony are extremely sought after in Hollywood.

Their next action movie The Gray Man is being created for Netflix and it’s set to have an all-star cast with Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling and Ana De Armas already on board the project.

According to Deadline, The Matrix 4’s Jessica Henwick and Narcos’ Wagner Moura have now also joined the cast, alongside Dhanush and Julia Butters.

The Russos were originally developing this movie with Sony, however, it became available earlier this year and the streamer was quick to acquire it. The Gray Man will be the biggest-budget feature movie in Netflix history.

The brothers have written the script and will also produce the project.

This film is based on the 2009 debut novel by Mark Greaney, which is also titled The Gray Man. The book is all about a former CIA operative and a freelance assassin named Court Gentry. Gosling will play the leading role of Gentry, a man who is being hunted around the world by a former cohort at the CIA named Lloyd Hansen (played by Evans).

Joe recently told a CCXP Worlds panel that the film could become a franchise, saying: “This is being conceived as a series of films, and again, potentially branching out, we could follow other characters, but we’re not gonna answer every question in the movie.

“So you’re gonna finish the movie, [and] have a complete story, but you’re still gonna have questions about the wider universe.”
