Katherine Schwarzenegger looks forward to daughter’s first Christmas amid ‘crazy’ 2020

The 30-year-old author gave birth to her first child, Lyla – whom she has with husband Chris Pratt – in August and she has admitted after a year of “unpredictable twists and turns”, she’s looking forward to spending the festive period as a family of three.

Alongside a picture of a baby ornament with “First Christmas” on it, which she received from her sister Christina, Katherine wrote on Instagram: “While this Holiday season will look different for us all, this little ornament my sister Christina got us, and the experience of our daughters first Christmas is a big silver lining of joy and light for me. 2020 has been a crazy year, it’s not what any of us expected; it’s been filled with a lot of challenging times and unpredictable twists and turns. It has also been a year of immense joy for those of us who have welcomed life into the world. Being pregnant in a pandemic and having a baby too, was not how I expected my pregnancy and becoming a mother to go, but i couldn’t be more thrilled and grateful to have my little Lyla Maria in my life and to be able to be her mom. Shout out to all the people who had babies this year, became pregnant, are pregnant, or are trying to get pregnant. It’s a wild time to embark on this journey of motherhood and I see you! (sic)”

Katherine – who is a step mom to her ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor spouse Chris’ eight-year-old son Jack, whom he has with ex-wife Anna Faris – recently admitted she has “hard days” as a mother.

She said: “You definitely have days where it’s harder some days than other days, then you have things of feeling bad with a partner, or wanting to make everything good again.

“It’s really hard.”

However, despite the challenges of motherhood, she’s still in “bliss mode” as a new mother.

Speaking in September, a source said: “[Katherine has been in] new mommy bliss mode. She took the first month off from most of her work and loved being able to do that. She just reached the six week mark and is looking forward to getting out and doing more. She has been very cautious with COVID and the air quality in LA so has been staying in.”
