Phillip Schofield ‘heartbroken’ after former Joseph colleague dies

Phillip Schofield revealed he was ‘heartbroken’ on Friday night after a former colleague passed away.

The This Morning star, 58, took to Twitter to pay tribute to Kate Young, who was a former musical director of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which he starred in from 1992 to 1997.

Sharing a picture of the late composer, Phillip said he was saddened to hear of Kate’s passing as he credited her for being ‘kind, funny, talented and delightful’.

Phillip famously took over the role of Joseph from Jason Donovan at the London Palladium in 1992 and even released a single of Close Every Door, which charted at number 27.

Writing an emotional tribute on Friday night, the presenter penned: ‘Heartbroken to hear of the passing of Kate Young @katarinageo who was one of my musical directors during my Joseph years.

‘Kind, funny, so talented, wonderfully bonkers and totally delightful. So sad. All my love to her family.’

Phillip’s 4.5 million followers were quick to share their condolences to the star and Kate’s family.

One fan recalled her own memory of the musical director, she penned: ‘I was in the kids choir in Manchester and was devastated you were not Joseph.
