Having this week undergone successful ankle surgery, Everton left-back Lucas Digne has shed light on his road to recovery in a video shared via Instagram.
It was previously confirmed in a brief, sombre-toned statement last week that the France international had suffered a serious injury to his ankle ligaments in a training session at Finch Farm. However, Digne appears to have firmly started his road to recovery after an update he provided directly to his social media followers.
The 27-year-old shared a video to his Instagram story of him in a gym session working with ropes to maintain fitness. His left foot can be seen encased in a cast, with the footage accompanied by the caption: “No day off.”
Despite being a defender, the roving left-back already had four assists to his name this season, the joint-highest of any Toffees player so far in 2020/21, proving that his £18m from Barcelona two years ago was money well spent.

Many Everton fans will surely be delighted to see such an important figure making progress as he defiantly sets about overcoming his injury setback.
Given his threat in the final third, Digne’s absence could impact the Toffees’ capabilities going forward. However, his Instagram post exhibits his desire to work as hard as possible to get back to action as soon as he can.
