The tourism sector in Tunisia is witnessing a severe crisis since the emergence of the Corona epidemic and the restrictions imposed on aviation and tourists. It affected the owners of cafes, hotels, shops, and workers in tourist areas. Despite the decision to open the borders, the situation did not improve and remained the same as a result of the decline in the number of Arab and foreign tourists to Tunisia due to the global pandemic. It should be noted that the tourism sector is one of the pillars of the Tunisian economy, as it attracts more labor and hard currency. According to the latest statistics, the revenues of the tourism sector in Tunisia decreased by 47 percent during the first half of 2020 compared to the same period last year, and the losses are expected to reach about two billion dollars by the end of 2020.
